About This Race
The Cauberg Trail Run is the premier trail running event in the South Limburg hills of the Netherlands, celebrating its 11th edition in 2026. Known as De Hel van het Zuiden (The Hell of the South), it offers five distances from 9K to 54K through stunning nature reserves and historic cave systems. Start and finish at the Shimano Experience Center in Valkenburg.
The Course
Technical trail course through forests, nature reserves, and historic cave systems of Valkenburg. Elevation gain ranges from 400m (9K) to 1400m (54K). Muddy conditions common. Routes through Polferbos, Bergse Heide, Ambyer Heide, and the Dellen.
