About This Race
The Media Maratón de Mérida "Patrimonio de la Humanidad" is a prestigious half marathon that takes runners through the UNESCO World Heritage Roman monuments of Mérida, the capital of Extremadura. In its XX edition (2026), it also hosts the Campeonato de España de Ruta — the Spanish National Half Marathon Championship. The fully urban, RFEA-homologated course passes the Roman Theatre, Amphitheatre, Temple of Diana, and other ancient landmarks. Limited to 2,500 participants, entries sell out in minutes.
